Featherstar padded silently over to the Great Sycamore. She just had to get away from the noisy camp. Cats were running around, scared out of their wits, because of an elders tale. Featherstar didn't believe in the nonsense the oldest elder had told. She was born several moons before the two-legs came. If she was born 36 moons earlier then she might have seen on of the great clans of the past. She also said that she was a retired leader with 1 life left. Featherstar thought that Starclan might have granted her old age though. She said that when the two-legs came, there was a prophecy. It had to do with something like 4 becoming 1 and blood ruling. Featherstar didn't know one thing that that elder did. Featherstar was her great-great-nice. Not even the elder that knew everything could tell what was coming up. Featherstar, leave the poor elder alone. There is no reason to think she is crazy. Featherstar thought. She kneaded the grass below the great tree and curled up. She slowly drifted into a deep sleep.
Featherstar was suddenly padding down a dark alley. The terrible stench of crow-food hung in the air. I must be dreaming! she thought excitedly. It might even be from Starclan! It was a deathly quiet. Suddenly a yowl broke out behind her. She whirled around, but there was no one. "Help!!" some cat screeched. There was still no one in sight. "Wait! Were are you? I can help!" Featherstar yelled, for the cat sounded like one she knew. Suddenly the sound of a terrible battle broke out around her. She could hear the helpless cats cries as they were slaughtered, the yowls of triumph of the cats that had set there terrible fate. A stone flew out of the wall. A hissing cat stumbled out. He held the terrible scent of blood and crow-food. "Blood will rule..." she screeched as she sank to the ground. No movement came from her lifeless body. "Help!" Featherstar yelled stumbling backwards. Blood started poring threw the hole. The end of the alley closed, leaving her trapped. The sticky liquid pored around her. The voice of her old leader boomed through the small enclosed space. "Four will become one or blood will rule. Do what is right, even if it is wrong, to survive. Put either your clan before your heart, or your heart before your clan. Either way what is right is wrong, and what is wrong is wrong." "Venomstar! Were are you!" she yelled. She slowly sank down in the sticky liquid. "Help..." she gasped.
She jumped up. She was breathing heavily. Her sides heaved as she gulped down air. The elder was right!

Aquaheart was hunting at the great sycamore when she saw Her leader sleeping. She was scrambling about in her sleep and Aquaheart got worried. "Featherstar? Wake up! You still have to appoint a deputy you know... It's still sunhigh but you have to chose a good deputy for our clan." Aquaheart mewed. She had already caught a huge starling, two voles, one shrew, one sparrow, one pigeon and three mice. She had been hunting since dawn so she wasn't surprised that she caught that many prey.
